Where did the winter go (or why is it still winter)

So it's been a while since I've updated the site with anything of real substance. Many of the things that were going to get done over the winter months didn't (yet). Perhaps that's the reason for the extended cold weather? We're supposedly getting an inch of snow tonight. April and we're getting snow? Makes me feel like I'm still in Houghton.

We are in the process of cleaning up the basement. Several sections of the walls need to be water proofed. We still have about 1/4" of saw dust over every surface in the basement. The previous owners did a ton of wood working in the basement without proper (well any) ventilation or dust collection. That's just plain dangerous. Ultra fine dust particles from saw dust are known to cause long-term health problems. For more information about the dangers of dust and proper dust collection, look here: http://billpentz.com/woodworking/cyclone/Index.cfm

The basement should be sealed by the end of the week. I'm hoping to finish up the floor in the hallway over next weekend. That would complete the floors with the exception of the kitchen. I also need to get my tax information to the tax guy so we can file an extension. We're getting quotes on windows and siding, which will be this summer's project. We may end up doing the windows ourself and will likely do the siding. We will NOT be spending nearly as much time working this summer as we did last year. (especially since Lisa is going on another one of her trips with her aunt).
